I had actually drawn up this turnaround before I eventually decided to work on the Bulbasaur model instead, but things were getting a little too complicated so I think I'll save this concept for a later modelling attempt. I've been reading the most awesome book on Level Design and it's been more than a little inspiring. Actually, it's got me thinking of a future game project concept-wise, not that I'm spending much time fleshing it out or anything. I still have my current Mynrean project to finish ASAP. Here's what I've thought up, though:
R'haad is a young whelp of an eastern lung living in the misty mountains of his tribe's island home. He has had his dragon orb -- a glowing ball filled with the knowledge of his ancestors and the pooling energy needed for a young dragon to develop his elemental powers -- stolen by a fierce chimera that attacked his village and flew out across the valley on the night of a lunar eclipse. Without it, R'haad cannot hope to learn how to be a proper dragon, so he sets out on a hard-headed quest to chase down the foul beast. Game genre could be adventure/platformer, with a polished 1990 flavor and light-hearted fantasy aesthetic.
Some of them did, but I still have my heroes~ Of course, almost all of them have been bastardized by now, but I still have the originals, so I don't bitch like everyone else whenever a new game comes out, haa. :3 I just wish there'd be MOAR now that the technology has advanced, mmmyep.
MOAR ADVENTURE, SILLY. Also, I managed to churn out a 3D model of R'haad in two days and in only a few hours each session.. what's wrong with me? Haa, makes me consider mapping out the terrains for the current project in Blender and then paint the textures onto all of them to make them pretty.. or use it as a really big ref. I dunno.. I guess I just want a way around having to draw so many ohmygodferntreeswhyno from different angles so I don't feel like I half-assed the map, lolololol. And now we see why I went to such great lengths to make the game playable FIRST.. :,D CanyoutellImissyou? <3
