I've been really unhappy with how the last version of Kira (the main character of my Unity3D game project) turned out, especially after I had rigged her and tried to model some clothing over the model. The hands lacked detail and the overall topography of the mesh felt clumsy to me, so... I went through 3 more iterations of the character and finally came to settle on this design.
Not too long ago I did some modeling for a boxy arm and leg (which you can see here and here), and I liked the effect. I think this is probably my most lively model so far, if not also the most stylized. I'm definitely planning to model in some toes to match the style of the hands too.
Unity4 was released! So that means I have a chance to play with the amazing built-in Mechanim animation system! Here's a link to a pretty snazzy video about Mechanim's features: [link] . I'll be rigging this model to test-drive with Mechanim as soon as I finish up with commissions!
Yeah, I'm fond of toon-style graphics too, but I worry about proportions a lot when it comes to characters. I want to make each of them different from one another, but not so much that the style conflicts with one another. Thanks, fgdgh, it means a lot to me.
