I tried something a little different from my usual shading technique and I'm liking how it turned out a lot. This is Tasyl, a Mynrean character that is to be one of the main protagonists for a future comic/novel endeavor. I developed his design a bit and broadened his shoulders, gave him small horns to declare maleness, and worked more on his personality.. heh. I feel that I need to break out of my comfort zone with level perspective and practice a bit more before I can do said comic, but ah'well. He's overlooking the city from a veranda of sorts after an argument with his brother, Kelvyn, concerning all the time he's been putting into fixing the lightship recently.
I like the shading. It looks good; kind of has a soft but clear feel. I like the character too. He has a chill, but conflicted feel. I dunno, maybe my opinions are weird, but I'm excited to see a comic thing like this.
Not weird at all, since Tasyl is quite a bit more level-headed than his brother.. but that doesn't mean that he agrees with him much at all. Hopefully, after practicing with the different perspective types in a few finished pieces, I'll get up the courage to start drawing out panels/pages. Thanks a lot~
